The Pony Is NOT an Animal

I got nothin'. So let's have lunch with The Pony.

Most days, The Pony skips lunch. He works through his lunch half-hour, and grabs a snack when he stops at a convenience store for his bathroom break. Sometimes, Hick will pick up a burger and take it to The Pony. He can eat it on his break, or take bites as he leaves and enters the LLV (Long Life Vehicle) on his route.

There is one route where The Pony will pick up lunch for himself. He knows the timing of this route, and can order ahead to pick up Domino's when he drops off their mail. That's what he did Tuesday.

"Lunch."

"Looks like a pizza."

"Breadbowlpasta."

Well. That's fitting. The Pony loves pasta, and The Pony loves bread. Don't think he buried his face in that pasta bowl like an animal! The Pony uses a fork to strap on the old feedbag.

The picture didn't really make me want pizza. I prefer thin crust, like a cracker, for my Domino's pizza.

  1. I am surprised that Pony's union doesn't fuss at him for not taking his lunch break!

    1. Nope. I think it was actually the shop steward who showed The Pony how to scan his time card (or whatever they use these days) to designate that he worked through his 30-minute lunch time. She was one of his trainers when he first started. There are others who choose to work through lunch as well.

It's not like they can cheat! They are monitored within an inch of their lives, whether it's by the vehicle or the scanner they carry. Too much time not moving, and a message comes up. Same with the speed on the vehicle. Too fast is also a no-no.

  2. I've never heard of breadbowl pasta. That will certainly keep him going to the end of his shift.

    1. Yes, plenty of carb-loading for his delivery marathon.

    1. Me too! Cold or hot. A slice even makes a hearty breakfast.

  4. I live pizza. Not the too thin crust and not the big fat doughy crust. In between. We found a little Italian restaurant close by and they make the perfect pizza and not I want one!

    1. Yes, pizza-lover here. I could share it with a mouse, I could eat it with a louse. I like the very thin, or the fat greasy pan crust. Not the in-between fluffy crust. We could be the same-sex Sprat couple, licking the pizza-pan clean!

    2. I remember singing about Jack Sprat and his fat wife to my children many, many years ago. We sang a lot, whether it was a song or just a nursery rhyme.
