I'm Not Sure How To Break This To You, But...

VAL'S LUCKY STREAK CONTINUES!

Yes. I know you're nothing but thrilled for me. Not at all jaded and fed-up with my over-stuffed moneybags. I will refrain from chanting, like my second-best old ex-teaching buddy Karen every time she won a poker hand of Rold Gold Pretzel Sticks from me: "The rich get RICHER and the poor get POORER!"

Remember how I went out of my way to take ibuprofen and a cold Coke to The headachy Pony on his mail route Monday afternoon? Forsaking my own needs of scratchers until I was sure my little Pony was okay? THEN I went on about my scratcher business.

I was high-rollin'. Or perhaps high-scratchin' is more in order. You know, what with my Miss Kitty casino jackpot last Monday, and the fantastic scratcher luck that same evening. I went to my favorite lottery den, the Gas Station Chicken Store, and splurged on a pretty green (my favorite color, and not just for MONEY) $30 ticket. The odds of winning at least your money back on these big ones is 1 in 2.66. There are 20 tickets in a roll, and 6 of them are winners. So I like the odds, but I can't afford to buy them very often.

Don't strain your eyes and your brain looking for what number I matched. It was a SYMBOL! Fifth row down, on the left.

That is a $500 WINNER! Yes. I was shocked. I was hoping for a $60 or even $100. This will do! Hick's response was akin to that of Clark Griswold looking at the Grand Canyon [13 seconds].

Anyhoo... I'm gonna ride this streak until it strikes out. All streaks come to an end. Even the losing ones.

  1. You have had a whirlwind of money. Go for it, girl.

    1. It won't take long for that whirlwind to implode, spinning not-so-slowly down to lint in my empty pockets! But I'll give it a whirl until slows.

  3. There are twenty tickets on a roll and six of them are winners. How do you know that six of the twenty are winners??
I'd like to still be your friend so I'll keep my eternally-losing bitterness off this page, but I have to say I am a little miffed at Even Steven and his cousin Lady Luck.

    1. I used to watch a YouTube channel of Bradley Hahn, who won $10 Million on the Golden Ticket, which was Missouri's first $30 ticket, I think. He has since taken down that channel. "Millionaire Book Scratcher," that was the channel.

Anyhoo... he used to buy a WHOLE ROLL (or BOOK, as he called it) and show himself scratching every ticket. So I got used to seeing how they work. That's $600 for the whole roll of tickets. And he'd win back at least $300, maybe $350 on the roll. Each roll has a $100 winner, and a $60, a couple $50s, and a couple $30s. Sometimes there'd be 7 winners on a roll. But always at least one $100 winner, and a combination of the others. But you always hope for a $1000 winner, or $5000, something bigger.

Even Steven needs to travel more. I am not holding him hostage! Maybe he'll head your way when he evens me out again.

    1. Thank you! I cashed it in today, and stashed most of the money for a purpose yet to be determined. Bought another $30 elsewhere, and won $30 on it. Not complaining!
