Hick-splains, Trains, and Really Good Deals

The holiday season is not a good time for auctions. Either they get cancelled because people have something better to do, or they just have Christmas stuff for bids, or maybe the good items that might have been offered were used for re-gifting. That doesn't keep Hick from going to auctions, though. He just hasn't been buying much.

Saturday night, he sent me a couple pictures.

"Look what I got for $1"

Oh. So Hick must have paid a dollar for a chance on the prize table, and won, and picked a LEVI'S shirt. It's kind of cool, though it appears to be a woman's shirt, and not in Hick's size. Then again, it could be a man's shirt, with that design supposed to represent the RED TAB Levi's, which is all my dad would ever wear. Still doesn't look like Hick's size, though. But still worth a dollar.

What I DIDN'T know about this item, I found out on Sunday.

"How'd you like the mannequin I got at the auction for a dollar?"

"MANNEQUIN? I thought it was just the shirt!"

"It's a mannequin and a shirt."

Of course. That will be much more useful than just a shirt that doesn't fit...

Also, Hick sent a picture of another purchase:

His description for this one was: "train poster union stayion"

I'm not sure Hick understands what he bought. I don't really think that's a train poster.

  1. I can't tell what the hell that is...but it is cool.

    1. I prefer the headless, armless, legless mannequin, because at least I can tell what it is.

  2. I would have assumed it was just a shirt, too. As everyone knows, I am moving and purging. HeWho had over 60, yes, sixty Tshirts! In various sizes. Some stained, some not. I did not consult, I just got rid of 2/3's of them. He didn't even notice!

  3. Well it IS a poster and it does have a train on it, so I guess Hick is sort of right.
The mannequin could come in handy, he could dress it up in an item that he has more than a few of, so people could see and ask if he has their size.

    1. I could imagine the mannequin propped outside Hick's Storage Unit Store, dressed in a different shirt every day, to attract attention.

I'll take your word for the "train" poster. It reminds me of the Joe Dirt poop bomb.

    2. I remember that poop, he thought it was an asteroid.

    3. That was the airplane poop that he called "Meteor," and ate his fries and ketchup off the top of. This was the one he thought was an atom bomb, that he tripped over in the desert.

  4. You people see a TRAIN? I thought it was a gun.
Now that mannequin could come in handy. Imagine scaring your basement ghost.

    1. No matter how hard I try to see a train, I can't. That mannequin would scare ME, because I'd forget it was in the basement!

    2. Isn't it one of those futuristic bullet trains?

    3. Maybe? It's too artsy-fartsy for me! I imagine a train like the Cannonball on Petticoat Junction, burning coal, with a cow-catcher on the front.
