Hick came home from his SUS2 (Storage Unit Store 2) on Saturday with a bargain. It was in the back of SilverRedO, and Hick said he had to drive A-Cad for a few days until he could get his bargain unloaded. Didn't want it to get caught in the rain, which it turns out we only got a sprinkling of.
Hick's bargain was a 2-piece deal.
It's a washer and dryer for the Double Hovel flip house.
Hick was doing business as usual, and a fellow Storage-Unit-Store-y came in and told him, "My wife has some stuff for sale that you might be interested in." Hick went over to look, and saw the washer and dryer. At a price of $100 for the pair, Hick couldn't turn it down!
They came out of the house of the wife's parents. Her father passed away, and her mother moved into a nursing home. Hick installed them on Tuesday at the flip house. He ran the washer, and it works just fine. He has not yet tried the dryer, because he needs to get a power cord to plug it in.
Hick must have a heavily reinforced lap, because all the bargains falling into it have not caused injury.
Oh, and if you plan on making fun of our Christmas lights being up so early, the joke's on you. They've been up for about 10 years now.
Hick must be pretty strong to get those appliances into and out of SilverRedO. He got a really good deal on the washer and dryer. Another win!
ReplyDeleteHick had a dolly (or as he calls it, a 2-wheeler) and knows how to use leverage to load things. That said, I'm pretty sure the guy at the storage units helped him load them. Hick left them sitting in SilverRedO until his helper, Old Buddy, could assist in unloading them at the flip house on Tuesday. Hick probably could have done the dryer by himself, but washers are much heavier.
DeleteThat was a great deal for him. At least he had a place to protect them. You will sell the house with a washer and dryer?
ReplyDeleteYes, Hick also put in a refrigerator, and he's looking for a stove. The Pony says he'll give up his stove if he likes the future flip house stove better. Hick saw one that was stainless steel, like The Pony's refrigerator. He wasn't ready to buy one yet, though. He'll find another one.
DeleteThey are not new appliances, but Hick thinks the house will sell better with them. Of course he will make sure they are working appliances. Somebody can always replace them later if they don't like them. It's just one less thing for a buyer to worry about getting before they move in, or rent out.
That's a great bargain! Don't dryers usually come with the cord attached? Or does he need an extension?
ReplyDeleteDryers don't come with cords attached, because there are 3-prong and 4-prong electrical outlets. So you need to get the cord to match your electrical outlet. Maybe the seller forgot to include the cord, or maybe it was the wrong kind. But it's not an extension cord.
DeleteThat Hick is one savvy buyer! He is right about the house selling quicker with the appliances in. They could be considering several places and most likely go with the one that is move-in ready. We have yet to put lights up. We would be the only ones to enjoy them at any rate. No tree either, because no one visits here at Christmas. My daughter has SIX Christamas trees up, so we will just enjoy hers.
ReplyDeleteEverybody has a knack for something. Mine is scratcher-winning and attracting weirdos. Hick's is bargain-getting.
DeleteShh... we still have a Christmas tree up down in the basement. I remember when Hick put up these lights, because Genius had gone off to college, and The Pony was drafted into duty untangling lights and plugging them in to see if all of them worked. There was a finger-slicing incident...
