Pic To Prove It Happened

Remember CasinoPalooza 3, when we ate at a Mom and Pop steakhouse, and Val regretted having the fries instead of the broccoli?

Let the record show that Val does not live with regrets. We returned to that establishment on the evening we took The Pony halfway back to college, and what do your THINK Val ordered? Uh huh. The teriyaki chicken with a side of BROCCOLI! Mission accomplished.

Yes, it was real, and it was spectacular. The plating left a little to be desired, but the broccoli was delicious. I'm not sure what they put on it, but I'm guessing lemon juice. It had a little added flavor, but nothing greasy like butter. That's a lot of broccoli. I shared with Hick.

Right after we were seated, another group was shown to a booth near us. It was young adults. Two couples, I think, though I didn't pay attention to them. I just know it was not children, and they were not raucous. In fact, they finished eating before we did, and left. Again, I took little notice. Until I turned to talk to The Pony about his steak, and saw the table in the background.

SHEESH! Hogs leave their trough in better condition than those diners left their table! I hope they wore bibs!

    2. Besides my Doctor told me broccoli and spinach are a bad idea if you have had kidney stones.

    1. I was not a fan of it growing up, but now it's delicious! They must have changed the formula, with better results than New Coke.

  4. If it wasn't for the Teriyaki sauce, I'd call that Hawaiian chicken because of the pineapple. Broccoli is nice with a little lemon juice. if I'm making lemon chicken, I'll put lemon sauce on the broccoli too.
I always clear crumbs off my table when eating out.

    1. That table looks like they expended extra effort to make the crumbs.

  5. Looks like HeWho ate there! I will usually pick up his place mat and shake it onto the floor for the dogs to clean up. They appreciate sloppy eaters! I find myself stacking empty plates and swiping the crumbs onto the top plate with a napkin on those rare occasions I eat out.

    1. That's it! They just need a dog or two running around. It's not like a white-tablecloth place, as you can see. I do the stacking thing too, but not so much the crumbs. At least we don't leave many crumbs, since we generally eat every morsel.
