That's a Coca Cola truck from the I-80 Truck Museum. Hick thinks it's from the late 1930s. Because I guess a Truck Museum wouldn't bother to put any dates or information on the trucks they display... Hick went there Tuesday.
He also went to the Picker store, but I guess he arrived at closing time, because he said he only spent 15 minutes, and he's going back on Thursday. Can't be bothered to Google the hours it's open, I guess. He got one picture while he was there.
Pardon me for protecting Hick's identity. Not that it helps. He looks shockingly similar to the Big Boy behind him. Good thing I washed that stinky hat!
He spent Wednesday visiting with his friend, going to lunch at a little restaurant next to the dairy farm they visited, and who knows where else. At this writing, they had plans to head for a casino after supper. Hick says there are three in the vicinity, and they might hit more than one. Of course he didn't mention this when deciding on his trip. Or invite me.
A casino is like a carrot on a stick for Val! But the real prize is being Hick-free for a few days.
Hick should visit NJ for some really interesting sights, like the huge ship like building on Rt 22 that has housed several businesses, or the wooden elephant in Margate NJ that used to be a hotel, or the club in Asbury Park where The Boss got his start, and I think we have the worlds largest ball of dental floss someplace.
ReplyDeleteThat is the kind of stuff Hick would like! Except maybe the club for The Boss. If it's not country, he doesn't listen.
DeleteHe's been to New Jersey, on a work trip, and brought back a LAWNMOWER! I think it was from a factory they were closing. At least he got a free lawnmower.
So, you're saying Hick looks like Big Boy? After an insult like that, he might never return.
ReplyDeleteOh, so that's what your scheme's built on...
Well, he DOES! As you'll see in the next post with another Big Boy photo. I don't think Hick would feel that was an insult, though. He might be proud. Which would put the kibosh on my scheme.
DeleteOr he could visit Arizona to see the biggest hole in the ground. It's a grand sight.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think he's been there yet. He's been to that dam outside of Vegas. Probably the biggest hole he's seen...
DeleteI doubt Hick would walk out on that see-through viewing platform, though.
Those Coca-Cola trucks are magnificent :)
ReplyDeleteYes, they are. I can't believe Hick didn't know the full details.
DeleteYou beat me to the punch line. You know you could also travel to your favorite one armed bandit.
ReplyDeleteThere's going to be road construction between us and our old one-armed bandit hangout! For about a month, at the 67/55 interchange. Two weeks northbound, and two weeks southbound.
DeleteGood thing Hick knows the back roads!
Hick's away on a trip? You are definitely a winner!!
ReplyDeleteIt was magnificent while it lasted!
