Val's Nearly FREE EggMuffin

When we make our semi-weekly trip to the casino, Hick drives through McDonald's and orders the 2 for $4.00 Sausage/Egg/Cheese McMuffin. The Pony gets a meal to himself, but we each have a McMuffin, no side, no drink. So Val is well aware of the taste of a Sausage/Egg/ Cheese McMuffin.

I HAVE RECREATED IT!

Not that it's something that takes VALedictorian brains to do. It's simple enough. But I've done it ALMOST for FREE!

Of course, I don't get up early enough to have it for breakfast. So mine was supper last night. I used our store of Ponytail Guy FREE foods. The only thing here I bought is the English muffin, which I got in a 4-pack from Save A Lot.

My EggMuffin has a FREE sausage patty, baked in the oven until a little crispy on one side, a FREE American cheese slice, and a FREE egg poured from a carton marked Whole Eggs. I toasted the muffin in my skillet, with a little bit of mayo spread on the inside. It got a little char on the high points. The hot sausage was placed on the cheese. Then I cooked my egg, ground some black pepper on top (oops, not free), and put on the muffin top.

That's the actual order the McDonald's uses when building their Sausage/Egg/Cheese McMuffin. Mine tasted JUST LIKE IT! Maybe a little better!

    1. Nom-nom! I had it again tonight! I'm sure you will have no trouble making it. I think the key is toasting the muffin.

  2. What are you, a rocket scientist?

I figured out the secret recipe for Rice-a-roni, a San Francisco treat. It involves rice and get this...Spaghetti or "Roni", butter, a bullion cube, salt pepper and season salt. Cheaper than store bought, but of course not free.

    1. No, just a VALedictorian! I think you got robbed of a valedictorianship. I would not have figured out the bullion cube and the season salt for the Rice-a-roni. I could have gotten the rice, broken spaghetti noodles, and butter.

    2. I have all those ingredients even the rice shaped pasta, called Risoni, to go in with the actual rice. It's a winter lunch food for me though, so I won't be making it any time soon. The Risoni comes in little blue boxes with no inside packaging, so I empty it into a jar with a decent seal to keep it safe from creepy crawlies and mice. Not that we have any mice around here.

  3. Your McDonald's uses the beaten eggs in a carton? Ours uses real eggs, we can clearly see the yolks and whites of them on our Egg McMuffins that I never buy because I don't eat their food, but I've seen them.

    1. No, our McDonald's uses a whole egg, but the Ponytail Guy didn't give Hick whole eggs for FREE! So I use the carton of liquid Whole Eggs that was FREE.

It's good enough for me, since I DO eat them, and mine tastes the same.

  4. Looks good, though not for me, as eggs make me gag in the morning. English muffin with butter and honey is more my style. HeWho would love yours, but he can't have it. Do I feel sorry for him? No, no, I don't!

    1. So when you drive thru my kitchen to order, ask for it with no sausage, no egg, no cheese. And a side of butter and honey.
