A Blast From 12 Days Past

Hick and I celebrated our 31st anniversary last week. Technically, Hick celebrated it on the actual day of October 24, with a Chinese lunch with his cancer girlfriend. But before that, on Monday the 23rd, we called our semi-monthly casino trip our anniversary celebration.

Never mind that Hick takes me to the casino on a regular basis. Never mind that he needed to get down to Casino Town that day before his pawn shop girlfriend sold her wares to someone else. Hick proclaimed that we'd go to the casino for our anniversary. One day early.

Seeing as how it was our anniversary, I celebrated with a piece of pie at lunch!

It was my favorite, coconut cream! It was delectable. A nice size slice, cold from the cooler, with graham cracker crust. Mmm. Yes, I ate it before my lunch plate arrived.

Hick chose the pumpkin pie. More for Thanksgiving purposes, I suspect, than for our anniversary. I got him a cherry pie for Thanksgiving, but those menu items were only a list on an index card at the time we were eating this casino pie.

I'm pretty sure Hick's slice of pie was bigger than mine. He must also have a casino girlfriend in food services.

The Pony "wasn't really hungry," so he went pieless. He chose the chicken tenders for lunch.

They came with honey mustard sauce, which The Pony declared was too sweet. I would have lapped it up like it was Diet Coke, but only tried a dab on a morsel of chicken. The Pony pronounced the tenders to be EXACTLY LIKE DAIRY QUEEN CHICKEN TENDERS. He was correct. Too much crispy breading for the amount of chicken inside.

Hick, a creature of habit, went back to his standard cheeseburger.

I suppose it was his giddiness in celebrating our anniversary that made him throw caution to the wind, and order the curly fries. Though they were, at best, curvy, and not quite curly.

You might think Val chose the most exotic thing on the menu. You'd think wrong.

I went for the burger myself. It was actually 10 times as tasty as this picture makes it look. I opened the lid to show the toasted bun. They didn't skimp on the onions or pickles! I had provolone cheese on my double-burger. And tater tots.

The gambling was good enough. I was not the big winner for the day. I DID have some success, like this little bonus on a Wonder 4 Spinning Fortunes Buffalo Gold game. The same slot where I won my big jackpot.

That's my bonus total. The screen behind it is what saved the bonus. Lots of buffaloes, for a win on that one screen of $3.00 x 48. Of course it was not all take-home profit, because I spent 4 hours there gambling. Ya gotta spend money to win money. And sometimes, ya just gotta spend money!

Hick had the audacity to leave with a profit of $100. The Pony was grousing about being down to his last twenty. He came to play a Quick Hits Bonus Wheel (not sure of the name) near where I was playing, with 10 minutes before time to go. I heard him hitting the wheel bonus, but I couldn't see if he was winning anything. Apparently not, until the very last minute.

That shows his WIN from the bonus, $320.00, on an 80-cent bet. He cashed out.

We all had a good time on my pre-anniversary celebratory casino trip. Everyone has a healthy casino bankroll for the next trip.

    1. The Pony has been having the most overall success since my big jackpot back in July. He has stolen Even Steven's affections!

  2. I have never had coconut cream pie, I think it would be too sweet even for me, who likes sweet things. I could probably manage half a slice, but I'd have to eat the lunch first. I can count on the fingers of one hand and have fingers left over for all the times I ate dessert first.

    1. I blame Hick for the dessert-first trend! He just can't wait, but since he's pieing it up, I don't feel bad about doing it. My reasoning is that I can use the dead time while waiting for the meal, and then I'll have more time to gamble later.

You should TRY coconut cream pie, even it it's only a bite! Maybe you could get a slice, and freeze it, and have a bite once a year.

    1. You would have loved these chicken strips. They were bigger than the DQ version. I prefer a different batter on the chicken than DQ's crunchy stuff. More like that on Hardee's chicken tenders.

The pie was great. I would have tried the pumpkin version, but Hick didn't offer me a bite! I offered The Pony a taste of mine (even though I know he doesn't like coconut, heh, heh).

    1. We have downs to go with our ups, but the ups are pretty darn good! "Lucky Ducky" is The Pony's favorite slot to play at the Oklahoma casinos.
