Let Me Take You To Shackytown...

Hick has been working hard on his school-themed shed. Here's the latest picture he sent. I don't notice a lot of difference from last time, but he's out there in the heat every day, hammering away with his PopArm.

It looks like a building. Now Hick is waiting on the roof. He says he needs to order some trusses. At first he thought he had some metal he could make them out of. I don't know what happened to THAT plan! Of course this had to be done when lumber prices are at an all-time high... I don't know why it can't wait for prices to come down. Hick insists that he has to get it under roof. Really? It's wood. That comes from trees. That have been standing in the rain since the beginning of time. It's not like he has all his collectibles in it already...

Looking down Shackytown Boulevard, I told Hick that his themed sheds look like OUTHOUSES from this angle! He was not amused.

Behind the School Shed is the Little Barbershop of Horrors, The Pony's Knife Shack, the Fishing Lair, and the Railroad Car Shed. Hick is getting quite a collection. I hope squatters don't move in. They'll need an umbrella if they choose the School Shed.

  1. You are right. They do look like outhouses :) I hope the schoolhouse gets a roof before the rainy season.

    1. If only the (2) outhouses Hick built were so roomy! We are roasting in 96-degree heat this week, so the schoolhouse has been safe. I don't know if we're getting any rain from the wrap-around tail-end of the "potential tropical cyclone" heading into the Gulf.

I have stopped watching the weather since no matter what we get, it won't equate to a day off work for me. Maybe I should ask The Pony. Who also won't get a day off work, but likes to judge the difficulty level of his job.

  2. I expect Mike and Frank to be pulling up in a white van any day now.

    1. They're gonna need a bigger van! Hick has the BARn and the Freight Container Garage chock full of "collectibles," not just the themed sheds...

  3. Wouldn't surprise me at all if some squatter decided to try to homestead in one of Hick's sheds. If he adds a toilet and sink to one they would be able to call it a home. You could use them for a bed and breakfast business! I an see you now, cooking up breakfast for your "guests".

    1. Heh, heh! The toilet would be a detached outhouse! It would be a RUSTIC bed and breakfast. You'd be lucky to have a bed, and breakfast will be served by Little Debbie.

    1. That would only put Hick's name out there for people trying to sell him more junk!
