Not Sure Why Hick is Privy to This QuickFlip Information

You may recall that there was drama with the QuickFlip house a couple day ago. The previous Half-Owner demanded on Sunday to remove his stuff stored in the garage IMMEDIATELY, at his convenience. The now Old Lady owner said that was not his prerogative. That he could make an appointment to remove "his" property from her now-legal property.

Anyhoo... it really has nothing to do with us. Hick gave the Old Lady buyer the contact number of the previous Half-Owner at closing. Because he was entitled to remove his tractor and a couple lawnmowers from the garage on the QuickFlip property.

Wednesday, Hick sent me a text around 11:00.

"You won't believe what happened today. (Previous) Half-Owner come to get his stuff out of the garage at the QuickFlip house, and just told the Old Lady that she could have all the stuff. About $2500 worth."

"Maybe he doesn't have anywhere to put it. Or a way to move it."

"He came and took some stuff and said he didn't really have anyplace to put it wish he would have given it to me but she owns it all now."

"Does she want it? I thought she was trying to clear it out."

"Yes she is giving it to her grandson."

"Well. She got a good deal."

Of course Hick is beside himself over losing this windfall. But he is friends with (previous) Half-Owner's brother, not the (previous) Half-Owner himself.

So... the Old Lady got a good deal, and we got a good deal on the sale. No complaints from Val!

  1. There is a Trinidadian phrase that sometimes people need to boil down like bhagi. So they start off big and first, but after the boiling is done, super small. Sounds like that is previous Half Owner - LOL. But it is a bummer Hick didn't get a chance at the items.

    1. Heh, heh! I think he knew all along that he didn't have a place to keep his stuff, and was just dragging out the inevitable decision to give it up. Probably using his cantankerousness to buy more time, putting people off from wanting to deal with him.

  2. The grandson got a good deal too. Funny how half-owner made such a fuss when he must have already known he had no space for the stuff. All's well that ends well I guess.

    1. Yes. Grandson will be living on the property with Old Lady, so he's already got a good deal, plus this. I'm not sure (previous) Half-Owner is capable of making good decisions. The property was just sitting for two years. You'd think he might have planned on how to get his stuff before now. Hick's deal was in the works for several months, too.

  3. The guy still owned the stuff and could have called Hick to come and get it when he came, could he not? At least it all turned out to be a peaceful end.

    1. Why would EITHER of them call Hick, is my question. We bought the property, then we sold the property. The guy's stuff was written into the contract. So it was just between the guy and the Old Lady who now owns the property.

Hick has no keys to the new locks Old Lady put on the garage and the house. So the guy could not have called Hick to come and get it.
