There's really no new progress on the kitchen. You've seen the pictures of it completed. These are just pictures The Pony took after cleaning. Though I don't know how effective that cleaning could be, what with Hick having junk strewn across the counters.
See what I mean? At least this picture gives you an idea of how the kitchen is situated, at the end of the living room. That kitchen window looks out on the side street where Hick parks SilverRedO.
There wasn't much cleaning to do for the microwave, stove, and refrigerator, since they're all new. I like how Hick left the tag on the oven door. Again, there's his assorted clutter.
Here's the other side of the kitchen. Room for a table. That door goes into the hall that goes past the big bathroom, and leads to the big bedroom.
This concludes our progress tour of Bargain House. But there's a story about it coming up.

The Bargain house is looking so nice. I really like all the new flooring and the brightness of the rooms.
ReplyDeleteI think the black trim and black handles complement the brightness. That was a good decision by Hick.
DeleteLooking good. I have a glass cooktop now, I kinda miss having gas though :'(
ReplyDeleteI had gas once ("Heh, heh!" says my 13-year-oldself), but I didn't like it. I thought I was going to blow up the house when starting the oven. I still have the coiled metal burners on my electric stove. Never had a glass cooktop. I'm fine with that.
DeleteI think I would prefer the coiled metal, the glass makes me nervous! My mom has gas and it's easy peasy for us but I can see how it can make one nervous!
DeleteI LOVE gas and wish I had it here. All my life I cooked on gas stoves, in gas ovens, then I moved here and all the units have electric, except the ones in the original house which was divided into four or six flats and they all have gas stoves. I HATE the electric and have for the last almost 15 years.
DeleteIn the house I rented that had the gas stove, I also had a gas furnace in the living room. Every time it kicked on, there was a big WHOOMP, and I felt like the house was going to explode. I guess I have a gas phobia. I'll either get blown up, or slowly succumb to carbon monoxide. Electric makes me feel safer.
DeleteEven with stuff on the counters that is still a very nice kitchen. Though I'm not sure about a microwave directly above the stove, that's where an exhaust fan would be here in Aus., also I prefer a lower one because I'm short. I have seen plenty of microwaves built in above wall ovens on real estate sites, but never above a cooktop and often enough in newer homes there is a dedicated spot for one under the counter with power outlet built in. But still, that is a very nice kitchen.
ReplyDeleteMy microwave is above my stove. There's a fan under it. In fact, my old microwave quit working, and Hick put in a new one. There's always been a fan. I turn it on when I'm boiling stuff, and you can see the steam getting pulled in. I'm sure this one has a fan as well. My mom's microwave was above her built-in oven.
DeleteIt's a really cute kitchen. Hick's best yet.
