The Other Thing I Found

That title is the text Hick sent me about another SUS2.5 treasure.

That's a nice old-timey metal truck. It has a SEAT! Hick says it's a riding toy. That rusty metal stick thingy on top is for pulling it, or for steering if you (a child!) sits on the seat. I don't know how that would work. It doesn't look like a steering wheel to me! More like a giant key to open a can of sardines or SPAM. WAIT! If that rod is connected to something under the hood of the truck, I can imagine how it turns the wheels.

Anyhoo... Hick paid $50 for this old metal riding truck. He will take $100. for it. He says it's a Buddy L Deluxe Rider. That they are going for $350 in good condition, which his isn't. But it would be a good starter for somebody wanting to collect them.

  1. Fascinating! Has Hick ever considered going onto Antiques Roadshow? I bet he has something in there that would be fun for them!

    1. Hick watches it, but has no ambitions to be on it. He took some treasures to an auction house in St. Louis a few years ago, to have them appraised, because his "jewelry guy" said he had a couple pieces that might be worth something. I don't remember how much, but Hick also took an original painting. It was hideous! I think it was valued at around $100.

    2. What about my ambition to see Hick on it?! :p ;) I am sure he has had things that could have been interesting topics for them but he has so much going on in his units - that is plenty interesting enough!

    3. Heh, heh! Hick DOES have some interesting items. He'd probably walk around the other Antiques Roadshow guests, and end up buying half of what they brought.

  2. I remember basic go-karts that were steered that way. That truck would be a nice addition for a collector.

    1. It seems to be a classic, no matter what its condition.
