Hick was back at lunch bingo on Monday. I guess he's been storing up his luck. He sent me a picture of his "price" around 10:45.
Look! Hick won TWO prices. A Conehead Snowman, and a Cousin Itt Santa. No wonder the elderlies get irritated with him. He's taking all their fun out of winning! But wait! Less than five minutes later, Hick sent me another picture:
"I just won an afghan on coverall!"
"That's a good prize. They will all resent you even more."
Lunch was hamburger and mushrooms, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, a biscuit, and cherry peach cobbler.
"Your dessert is bigger than your main course. Did they give you extra?"
"No. Just filled the slot."
"Are they trying to kill off the diabetics?"
Hick had no answer to that. I guess he was too busy admiring his winnings.
Hi Val, You and Hick are on a roll with your winnings. You'd better take off for the casino now while good luck is with both of you:) I won't be surprised if I hear you, Hick and The Pony all come out as winners from your casino trip.
ReplyDeleteThere has already been a snag in that plan! You'll get the story in a few days. Even Steven has to regulate the good and the bad!
DeleteOne of the 'elderlies' told me she was crocheting an african. I did not misunderstand as she kept saying it to everyone. Our senior center does not have food that looks that good.
ReplyDeleteThat's when you just smile and nod. Hick has only complained once about the food. I think something was cold when they put it on his tray. I suppose he expects perfection for the $3 he spends on the meal! He usually tells me how good it it.
DeleteHick had meat loaf on Thursday, and offered to bring some home to me. I don't really like meat loaf unless I make it. He brought it home for himself, and there were 3 slices in it. He ate the meal on Friday night, and used the other two slices to make a sandwich to take to his SUS2 (Storage Unit Store 2) on Saturday and Sunday.
That rainbow Afgan would have you thrown off a roof in Afgan.
ReplyDeleteI'll make sure Hick doesn't go there. If he does, I'll tell him not to take his rainbow Afghan. If he does anyway, I'll tell him not to go up on a roof.
DeleteVery nice prizes, I love the colours of that rug. Lunch looks good too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a blanket, not a rug. The lunch is actually lunch, and Hick enjoyed it.
DeleteNever a dull moment with Hick, is there?
ReplyDeleteNope. Hick finally explained tonight that he won 3 TIMES! Two regular bingos, and the coverall bingo. I'm surprised the elderlies don't stage a protest on Hick's participation.
DeleteThat is a nicely appointed dining room for the seniors! The one in Montgomery City looks like they accepted any rejected furniture and made do! Hick likes his prices!
ReplyDeleteIt's bigger than I imagined. The building was an old hotel on Main Street, back in the lead-mining days when town was booming. Some of the elderlies live upstairs in apartments. Hick definitely likes his prices! Another story is coming.
