Just as I was bemoaning commenting on the lack of silver in the fourth week of 2023, I discover that maybe, just maybe, that fourth week was a fluke... Val is riding the silver train again, baby!
SATURDAY, January 28, I slid out of T-Hoe at Country Mart, and saw a comforting sight:
Right there where I would be sure to see it, a penny was waiting on the striped walkway of the pavement.
It was a face-down 2005 penny, making itself conspicuous to get my attention.

TUESDAY, January 31, found me in Wyandotte, Oklahoma, at the River Bend Casino. Sis and I met up front, waiting for Hick and the Ex-Mayor to show up so we could head to another casino. I looked down and saw
A penny lurking where no penny should be! Despite them being called "penny slots," those machines do NOT take pennies. Only bills or receipt tickets. Nor do they spew out pennies if you win. Only receipt tickets.
It was a face-down 1994 penny. The closeup was all blurry, so I didn't inflict it upon your loyal eyes. Sis even bent over to pick it up for me! Without me asking!

WEDNESDAY, February 1, Downstream Casino pulled through for me! That's where we stayed for two nights.
We returned that night after galivanting around the four-state area casino-hopping. Hick handed off A-Cad to the valet and I sat down on a concrete wall around a giant sculpture to wait for him. When he came in and sat down, I noticed something on the floor! Don't mind Hick's feet in his old-man Skechers. Nor his legs in jeans I had never seen until this trip. They look like 1980s wide-legged mom-jeans! I guess he got them at Goodwill, and had them hemmed to fit his short legs. Not his best look, but I'm no fashion plate myself.
It was a face-down 2017 NICKEL! My first nickel of the Future Pennyillionaire season!

WooHoo! I found a five cent piece myself this week, I'd been debating whether to go the long way home for extra exercise or to go past the mouldy smelling yard and hold my breath as I passed it. So I chose the shorter way and was rewarded with a five cent piece :)
